The Foundation for Students of Washington County is a non-profit 501 (C) 3 organization that supports the students of Washington County by providing money required for a quality education that are not provided through traditional funding sources. The Foundation carefully manages and disperses tax-deductible donations to local schools in the form of scholarships, financial grants, equipment, and supplies. Foundation officers welcome the opportunity to discuss educational enrichment ideas and also provide estate planning information.

Increasing partnerships and supporting students is a major goal of the Foundation. The Dixie Escalante Electric Kite Festival is recognized as one of our most valued partnerships. They provide an excellent opportunity to be recognized as one of our most valued partnerships. They provide an excellent opportunity to encourage our students to read and to involve children and their families in a great family outing at the Kite Festival. Through a student's participation in the reading program, he or she is awarded a top quality nylon kite at the Festival and given a chance for their own school to win additional dollars for various programs that are not traditionally funded.

The Foundation would like to thank all of those who have helped in any way to make this year's Kite Festival a success. Special appreciation to Dixie Escalante Electric as the primary sponsor and SunRiver for the beautiful setting they provide as the backdrop for the event. Thank you to all of the other sponsors, the Kite Festival Planning Committee, hundreds of volunteers, and anyone else who has helped in any way. Many people have gone to extraordinary efforts in making this a tremendous success. The proceeds of this Festival will be given back to the individual participating schools. We feel fortunate to live in a community that truly cares about the education of children.
